How to Cancel a Spot Order

Written by 100X

1. What Does It Mean to Cancel an Order?

Canceling an order means that a user actively cancels a current open order before the spot order is fully filled.

After the cancellation is successful, the unfilled portion of the order will no longer continue to be matched, and the corresponding frozen assets will usually be automatically returned to the available balance in the spot account.

Please note that the filled portion cannot be canceled. Users can only cancel the remaining unfilled portion.

2. What Orders Can Be Canceled?

In general, the following orders can be canceled:

  1. Unfilled limit orders

  2. Orders that have been partially filled and still have a remaining quantity

  3. Orders displayed as open orders in the current order list

If the order has already been fully filled, or the trading pair is under special processing, the order may not be canceled.

3. How to Cancel a Spot Order

The steps are as follows:

  1. Open the 100X App

  2. Go to the 【Trade】 page

  3. Select 【Spot】 trading

  4. Check 【Open Orders】 at the bottom of the page

  5. Find the order you want to cancel

  6. Tap 【Cancel】

  7. Confirm the cancellation and wait for the system to process it

After the order is successfully canceled, it will no longer continue to be matched, and the frozen assets from the unfilled portion will be returned to the available balance in the spot account.

4. How to Cancel a Partially Filled Order

If an order has been partially filled, users can only cancel the remaining unfilled portion.

For example, if a user places an order to buy 10 BTC and 3 BTC has already been filled while 7 BTC remains unfilled, after cancellation, the filled 3 BTC will not be canceled, and the frozen assets corresponding to the remaining 7 BTC will be unfrozen.

5. Why Haven’t My Assets Been Restored Immediately After Cancellation?

Under normal circumstances, after an order is successfully canceled, the frozen assets from the unfilled portion will be automatically returned to the available balance in the spot account.

If the assets are not restored immediately, it may be due to the system syncing the order status, network delay, or the trading pair being under settlement processing. Users can refresh the page later or check the order history to confirm the cancellation status.

6. Common Reasons for Cancellation Failure

Order cancellation may fail due to the following reasons:

  1. The order has already been fully filled

  2. The order is being processed by the system

  3. The trading pair is under maintenance, suspended, or restricted

  4. Network delay causes the page status to not update in time

  5. The current order status does not support cancellation

If cancellation fails multiple times, please refer to the information displayed on the 100X App or contact online customer support for assistance.

7. Friendly Reminder

Before canceling an order, please confirm the order status, filled quantity, and unfilled quantity. After the order is successfully canceled, the unfilled portion will no longer continue to be matched. If users still wish to trade, they will need to place a new order.

8. Special Note

100X provides spot trading services and related feature descriptions. The actual order status, cancellation result, and asset unfreezing status shall be subject to the display on the 100X App and the system’s actual processing result.
